About Kím
Like a plant
KÍM means germ or embryo and the idea is roughly to start on something simple which then gradually grows and takes on a new form, like a plant. The work is a continuation of Askell Masson's exploitation of the possibilities of the snare drum as a solo instrument, using sounds and polyrhythms which he hadn't in the earlier pieces (Prim and Konzertstück).
'킴'은 배아 또는 배아를 의미하며, 단순한 것에서 시작하여 점차 성장하여 식물과 같은 새로운 형태를 취한다는 의미를 담고 있습니다. 이 작품은 이전 작품(프림과 콘체르트슈튜크)에서 사용하지 않았던 사운드와 폴리리듬을 사용하여 솔로 악기로서 스네어 드럼의 가능성을 탐구한 아셀 매슨의 연장선상에 있는 작품입니다.
